The Project Play Southeast Michigan and Aspen Institute's Children’s Bill of Rights in Sports is a shared commitment to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to experience the joy, benefits, and lifelong value of sports and physical activity. Developed with input from youth, families, educators, coaches, and community partners, the Bill of Rights centers children’s needs and experiences in creating healthier, more inclusive sports environments.
It calls for every child to have access to safe, welcoming, and supportive opportunities to play; to be treated with respect; to have their voices heard; and to experience sports in ways that promote physical, social, and emotional well-being. The Bill of Rights provides a framework for communities, organizations, and adults to work together to make youth sports more accessible, positive, and equitable for all children.
Every child deserves the right to play, belong, and thrive.
